Institute of Paramedical Technology, Shillong is affiliated to Bharat Sevak Samaj (BSS) with approval No.BSSZO/IPT/TEM3002/02/19-6-07 and Centre Code No. AS/003. The Continuous expression of the Health care Industry brings with it growing demand for trained PARA-MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS. In order to cater to this demand to whatever extent possible, the Institute of Paramedical Technology has recently entered the field of Paramedical education in Shillong with the introduction of courses in subjects such a Medical Laboratory Technician, Nursing Courses, Physiotherapy, Pharmacy Assistant, Dental Technician.

OBJECTIVE:

1. To provide Teaching and Training for varies job oriented technical courses, especially in the medical science for proper diagnosis & treatment as would enable the student to find gainful employment in Government & privet organization.

2. To make one confident about oneself and motivate one to be self employed 3. The Institute offers the opportunity to become a Laboratory & X-ray Technician and also become a medical professional in the field of Health Care to make his future glorious, as now a days the X-ray and Pathological investigations are playing a vital role for correct medical diagnosis and treatment of various diseases.

COURSES OFFERED (PARAMEDICAL)

The Following courses are being offered by the institute from BSS (promoted by Govt. of India, approved in Indian Parliament 1952), which are not under any other Council/ Board. After successful completion of the course, BSS will provide all the Diploma / Certificates &Mark sheets to the student through IPMT which are absolutely vocational. So obviously the course First Aid & Practical Nursing is not registered under INC.

1. MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN (MLT):

Duration: 1Years
Qualification: SF or HSLC or HS
Admission fees: Rs. 8500/-, Monthly Tuition fees – Rs.1400/

2. BSS DIPLOMA IN MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN(DMLT):

Duration: 2years
Qualification: SF or HSLC or HS
Admission fees: Rs.10, 000/-, Monthly Tuition fees: Rs.1400/-
Session fees: Rs.3000/-

3. PHYSIOTHERAPY AND OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY:

Duration: 1years
Qualification: HSLC and above
Admission fees: Rs.8500/-, Monthly Tuition fees: Rs.1400/-
Session charge: Rs.2500/-

4. BSS DIPLOMA IN PHYSIOTHERAPY AND OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY:

Duration: 2years
Qualification: HSLC and above
Admission fees: Rs.10, 000/-, Monthly Tuition fees: Rs.1400/-
Session charge: Rs.3000/-

5. FIRST AID AND PRACTICAL NURSING

Duration: 1years
Qualification: 10+and above

6. BSS DIPLOMA IN FIRST AID AND PRACTICAL NURSING

Duration: 2years
Qualification: 10+and above

7. PHARMACY ASSISTANT

Duration: 1Years
Qualification: H.S.L.C and above
Admission fees: Rs.8000/-, Monthly Tuition fees: Rs.1400/-

8. BSS DIPLOMA IN PHARMACY ASSISTANT

Duration: 2years
Qualification: 10+and above
Admission fees: Rs.10, 000/-, Monthly Tuition fees: Rs.1400/-
Session charge: Rs.3500/-

9. DENTAL TECHNICIAN

Duration: 1years
Qualification: H.S.L.C and above
Admission fees: Rs.10, 000/-, Monthly Tuition fees: Rs.1400/-
Charge: Rs.3000/-

CLINIC AT PRACTICE:

Fee is necessary for the Clinical Practice Rs.6000/-
(Tie up with Nursing Home & Clinical chamber)

N.B. Admission and Tuition fees may be changed at any time.

Examination fees of all courses will be extra above the all dues.

CURRICULUM AND SYLLABUS:

The curriculum and syllabus for the examination of above mentioned courses shall be given to the students after admission which shall be subject to such modification as may be made from time as far notification of IPMT & BSS.

Hostel Facility: Hostel facility is a available for the students coming from far distance. At present the Institute is not having any hostel of its own but arrangements may be made for the outstation to stay in Mess or Private Hostel or as paying guests the separately for boys and girls.

PROCEDURE OF ADMISSION:

Application for admission into the Institute should be made in the prescribed application form only. The application form and prospectus can be obtained on payment of Rs.200/- in cash or Rs.300/- by post. But admission can not be demanded as a matter of right.

PAYMENT OF FEES:

i. ANY fees once paid cannot be refunded.
ii. Fees once paid cannot be transferred to the name of any other candidate.
iii. Fees should be always paid against receipts only.
iv. All fees should be paid as scheduled before 10th of the respective month.
iv. Failure to pay the fees within the stipulated time will cause expulsion of the student from the course after a written warning.
v. The defaulted student for non payment of fees after expulsion will be allowed to join within a month after payment of the fine rupees two hundred for re-admission.
