AIZAWL
The Aizawl district is hemmed between the Tuirial river on the west and the Tlawng river on the east.
Its headquarters is in the town of Aizawl. It is the capital of Mizoram.

Aizawl is the epicenter of all activities of the people of Mizoram – political, administrative, cultural and religious.
All administrative buildings including the secretariat and the Assembly building besides the other government offices, and headquarters of companies are located in Aizawl.

The Aizawl town and its suburbs have many tourist destination spots. The notable locations are the Aizawl town, Beraw, Dampa, Bung, Murlen and Tamadil.
AIZAWL CONNECTIVITY
Aizawl is well connected by air and road to the other main places of the country.
The nearest train station is 184 km away in Silchar, the headquarters of Cachar district of Assam. You can hire cabs from the tour operators after alighting from the train.
The road connectivity is via National Highway 54. Aizawl town is just eight hours drive from Silchar. You can proceed to Aizawl town from Guwahati (506 km) and Shillong too. There are night bus services. You can contact also the tour operators or go for per seat basis in any cab or hire the entire cab as well for the required number of days.
The main airlines operator to Aizawl is the Indian Airlines.
A few private airliners operate copter services.
You can fly to Aizawl town from three places, viz., Kolkata (60 minutes); Guwahati (45 minutes) or Imphal (30 minutes). There are daily as well as weekly flights.
