KUT

Kut is an autumn celebration. That is the time when the peasants reap the fruits of their hard labor. Therefore, the Kut festival celebrates the bountiful harvest.

The Kut festival is observed on the first day of November every year.

Kut is observed by the different tribes of the Kuki-Chin-Mizo groups of Manipur.

The Kut festival is a thanksgiving festival.

People of the Kuki-Chin-Mizo community offer their thanks to the lord for giving them a good harvest during the Kut festival.

A special feature of the Kut festival is the organization of the community feasts.

The tourists – both Indian and foreign – get to know the indigenous cultures, savor the exotically prepared typical local cuisines during the Kut fiesta.

The Kut festival is marked by merriment and much fun fare.

Food and fun abound during the Kut fest.
