The primary natural tourist destination spots are the Shirui Kashung (Shiroi Peak), and the floral garden of Shirui Lily, the Dilily Waterfall near Khayang Phungtha, the Hundung Mangva Cave, Khankhui Cave, Azoa Jenephiu Magi Lake near Kachouphung, the Khayang Peak, Chingjui Matza, the Phangrei picnic spot, besides the saline springs at Luireishimphung, Kalhang, Maramphung, Marem, Rajai Kl and Kn.
The other popular tourist destination spots the Cold Water Fishery Project near Zero Point at Phangrei in Shirui, MATA Industrial Complex at Lungpha, the Nillai Tea Estate en route to Tolloi, and the Longpi Pottery at Longpi.
THE KHANGKHUI CAVE
The Khangkhui Cave has a historical importance in Manipur. During World War-II, the villagers sought shelter inside it.
Khangkhui is a natural limestone cave.
The inside of Khangkhui Cave has been extensively mapped.
The common belief is that the Devil King lives inside the sprawling hall. It is named the ‘Durbar Hall’.
Towards its north is the Devil King’s bedroom.
KHAYANG PEAK & SHIRUI KASHUNG PEAK
There are two beautiful peaks in this region. These are the Khayang Peak and the Shirui Kashung Peak.
Both the peaks are ideal for trekkers. The panoramic views from atop the peaks is enchanting and breathtaking.
The Khayang Peak is 3114 meters above the sea level. The Khayang Peak is the highest point in the area.
The Shirui Kashung Peak is 2,835 meters above the sea level.
Shirui Kashung is also known as the Shiroi Peak. The Shiroi Peak and the floral garden of Shirui Lily are the habitats of the exotic and endangered mystic flower – Shiroy Lily.
