On the southern side is the Assam district of Sonitpur.
On the northern side of the East Kameng District is the Indo-China border. A section of the demarcation point – the MacMohan Line – touches the East Kameng district on this side.
This MacMohan Line is deemed as the international border between India and China.

Bus services are available from Tezpur in Assam and also Itanagar.
